Fate-favored is a term used to describe someone who has been ascribed a fate. In the Carve the Mark universe those people are Cyra Noavek, Ryzek Noavek, Cisi Kereseth, Eijeh Kereseth, Akos Kereseth, Orieve Benesit, and Isae Benesit. There are likely others, on other nation-planets, though their names are not known.
An entire family can similarly be called “fate-favored.” The Noaveks, the Kereseths, and the Benesits.
A fate is described as being a action such as a death, travel or other action that is constant in all versions of the world that an oracle sees.
Some examples of fates are:
"The Second child of the family Noavek will cross the divide."
This is the fate of Akos Kereseth (birth name Akos Noavek).
"The second child of the family Benesit will reign over the divide."
This is the fate of Isae Benesit, chancellor of Thuvhe.
"The first child of the family Benesit will raise her double to power."
This was the fate of the now-deceased Orieve Benesit, twin sister of Isae Benesit.
